Cuba: New Mechanized Cigar Brands
Havana, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) Internacional Cubana de Tabaco S.A. (ICT) –tobacco manufacturing company- announced today it will present by the end of 2008 new brands of mechanized cigars, much in demand in the global market, above all, in Europe.
In a press release ICT refers the company expects to show the new products during the Havana International Fair (FIHAV), number one Cuban commercial exhibition that every year in November at the fair grounds of EXPOCUBA, attracts businesspeople from all over the world.

ICT is a joint venture with Spain and its main factory is in the capital suburbs, with a production of 10 brands and 44 references, among which Mini, Club, Puritos, Minutes, Universal and Crystal, besides Standard.

This venture emerged seven years ago and since its foundation it maintains an upward trend in its international market sales besides meeting the demand of the tourist market inside national boundaries.
The report adds that at the end of 2007, the sales plan in physical units was accomplished by 103.22 percent, with a 10.90 percent growth rate compared to the preceding year. Export plan was surpassed by 4.3 percent with an 11.85 percent growth compared to 2006.
