Rome Ga. United Way Lead by Cigar Man

United Way Sets Ambitious Goal

A tough economy is not deterring Roman Steven McDowell of the Old Havana Cigar shop in Rome who hopes to lead the United Way to raise more than $1.5 million in it’s fall campaign this year.

The campaign kick off luncheon was held at Coosa valley Tech Wednesday where the theme “Live United” was unveiled.

The last two United Way campaign’s, featuring catchy goals of $1,111,111 and $1,234,567 were both exceeded and McDowell has set the bar even higher this year.

The United Way benefits 17 different agencies across Rome and Floyd County.
