Some members of the Cigar Weekly Community, and guests thereof got a true "First Look"  of this newest Cuban Crafters' offering at the beginning of this month. National Sales Director Alberto Noguera graciously sent  two boxes of the new Cuban Crafters Cubano Claro to the "Harang Avenue Herf and Seafood Fest." for guests to try, review and enjoy. Overall it was a genuine hit, as a number of those who had the opportunity to try them have already inquired about how and where to find them for purchase. We were sent the Churchill, which, by function of its size, was as smooth and cool as smoke as could be.

It is our understanding that this line will make its official debut at the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers trade show in New Orleans, the second week of August.

"Cubana Cigars Cubano Claro Torpedo are handmade with  Cuban-seed long-filler from the Cupido tobacco field, all enveloped in a Connecticut Desflorado wrapper. Desflorado tobacco is some of the best and most expensive available anywhere, as it requires constant vigilance and when the buds are ready to flower they are cut off, giving the tobacco an extra rich and smooth taste. The tobacco leaves from the Corona, the crown on the top of the tree, are then hand selected for these special Cubana cigars. Each Cubano Claro is hand made by our best Cuban trained rollers. . These cigars are so special that we packaged them in vintage cedar humidor boxes. A very special box for very special cigars. The Torpedo is 6 inches long with a ring gauge of 50. They are hand packaged in a cedar box of 20 cigars.

Cuban Crafters  indicates how they perceive the flavor and body:

MEDIUM TO FULL-BODY. The elegant taste starts at medium body and is full of sweet spices and toasted nuts. It then builds into a fuller body with sophisticated and smooth creamy notes of coffee, sweet layers of nutmeg and tinges of butter. The finish is full of complex tastes surrounded by layers of white chocolate. Most of those who tried this, tried it against a Don Kiki Brown Label which really packed a punch, making this cigar seem that much smoother and satisfying by comparison.
