A. Turrent Triple Play Maduro

Altadis, one of the largest players in the cigar industry, has released a number of new items this month in conjunction with the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers show in New Orleans, Louisiana.  These will be chronicled in Cigar Weekly's First Look section.

The Turrent Family of the San Andres Valley in México are producing another cigar for Altadis. According to the Atladis press release from Janelle Rosenfeld of Altaids, the new "A. Turrent Triple Play Puro Maduro was a major hit with aficionados at a special pre launch event hosted by talk-radio personality Cigar Dave. 'Connoisseurs of fuller-bodied smokes raved about this cigar,' said an Altadis U.S.A. spokesperson at the event. The official launch takes place in August at the IPCPR show."

Alejandro Turrent, fifth generation of the famed cigar-making family and one of the industry’s rising young stars, created the outstanding new smoke in Honduras at the acclaimed La Flor de Copan factory. The new A. Turrent Puro Maduro is named “Triple Play” because the entire blend - wrapper, binder and long fillers – is comprised of hand-selected maduro tobaccos. An ultra-premium San Andrés Morrón wrapper surrounds a blackened Connecticut Broadleaf binder and long fillers from Nicaragua, San Andrés and Honduras.

The new A. Turrent Triple Play Puro Maduro, which will ship to retailers in August, comes in five sizes: Robusto (54 X 4),
Toro (54 X 6),
Belicoso (54 X 6 1/8),
Short Belicoso (60 X 4)
and Gran Toro (60 X 6).
Suggested retail prices range from $7.25 to $8.00.
