Arango Cigar Debuts Windy City Premium Botanical Cigar
“Windy City,” a new botanical premium cigar, is Arango Cigar Co.’s latest product offering. Michael Gold, the company’s president, says it honors the nickname for Chicago, Arango’s headquarters location. The cigar is made exclusively for Arango by Drew Estate, in its Nicaraguan factory. The blending and flavoring process are so closely guarded that only a handful of workers are allowed access to the department where it and all Acid cigars are made.
According to Gold, “In 1998, Drew Estate pioneered the art of vapor-infusing cigars with a wide variety of herbal, floral, spice, and other botanical flavoring essences. Today, their Acid cigars are widely recognized for these intriguing flavor and aroma offerings. The handmade cigars contain only top-quality, long-filler tobaccos, not to be confused with typical flavored cigars. Acid cigars have achieved a cult following for their almost two dozen exotic flavors. They stand apart, due to their exotic essences, many of which originate in the East and Middle-East, and have never been used before.”
Windy City’s appearance is startling, because of its tapa negra (black top) wrapper. It is a two-tone wrapper ... from foot to band, the Indonesian wrapper has a natural color, which transitions into a Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper from band to head.
Windy City is offered in a 6" x 50 Toro, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $7.90 per cigar. It is presented 24 cigars to the box, in the familiar Acid artwork and color scheme. The cigars are currently available at tobacco retailers nationwide.
