The Oscura Corona has a smooth, dark and toothy wrapper. The bunch is firm. There are coffee aromas coming from the foot. The cold draw is perfect. This morning’s beverage is a cold brew latte.
This cigar brings on the strength immediately, with lots of coffee and cedar in the flavor profile. The retro-hale is peppery yet fairly smooth. This is definitely a full-bodied cigar. The burn is very good.
In the first third, some spices appear on the tongue to add to the flavor profile. So far, the flavors lack the typical sweetness of an Oscuro and are more like those in a heavy Maduro. The retro-hale remains smooth with pepper notes, and the burn stays even.

For over a year now, I've been dabbling in Cuban cigars and groups geared exclusively around Cuban Cigars. These guys are some of the most knowledgeable people I've met. They are serious about their cigars.
Yes, for some individuals, it is all about the prestige of Cubans. But to be honest, those guys don't tend to be as knowledgeable.

El Rey del Mundo Choix Suprême
Size - Hermoso No. 4 (5 inches by 48 ring gauge)
Wrapper - Cuba
Binder - Cuba
Filler - Cuba
Wrapper
The wrapper is a gorgeous Colorado claro (reddish tan) with thin veins. It is a delicate, thin wrapper and silky smooth to the touch. The triple cap is well applied. The cigar gives off a nice sweet and woodsy smell.
Construction
This cigar is solid and no soft spots are evident. The wrapper is uniform from head to foot. The triple cap holds up well to a guillotine cut, and the draw is a bit stiff but smokable. Prelight flavors are sweet, with hints of cinnamon and brown sugar. The ash is a solid medium gray. A bit of a runner occurs halfway down the cigar, but a touch of flame helps it catch up.

I and a group of friendly like-minded spirits lovers often get together to enjoy some good food and – of course! – good whiskies. Over the course of many such gatherings, I’ve had the opportunity to sample whiskies I might not have otherwise tasted. In today’s article, I profile just a few of those whiskies that have, for various reasons, impressed me.

We flew into Las Vegas on a Friday morning and got a ride to the hotel. After a short unpacking and decompression session, we headed for the Convention Center to register, obtain our badges and get our goody bags. We then walked around the lobby areas waiting for the premier showing of Hand Rolled, a cigar documentary.
The movie started off with a history of the modern cigar business in Cuba under Batista, and showed how Castro’s revolution forced most of the families off of their farms. Because the state confiscated their farms and factories, many fled to other countries to pursue their business interests.
H. Upman, Petit Corona
Size - Mereva (Petit Corona), 5 inch X 42 Ring Gauge
Wrapper - Cuba
Binder - Cuba
Filler - Cuba
Wrapper
Beautiful medium tan wrapper, firm feel, thin veins, nice looking triple cap. This cigar has a nice sweet tea and sweet bread smell. Very nice.
Construction
This cigar is solid with no soft spots evident. The draw is a bit tight but smokable. Prelight draw is sweet with hints of cinnamon. Cigar burns evenly with a solid gray ash.
Flavor
This cigar is a solid medium cigar with the flavors evident from the first draw. Lots of bitter nuts and coffee flavors. About an inch into this cigar, the cigar picks up some strength with flavors changing to toasted nuts, coffee and cream. The final third is full with toasted tobacco flavors, and some sweet tea on the finish. A well balanced cigar overall. I enjoyed the flavor changes as I smoked it down.
