Fort Lauderdale, FL (November 18, 2022)
Alec Bradley Cigar Company today announced that the 800 Limited Edition Reclaimed samplers, first reported on by Cigar Aficionado in October, are now shipping. Over the next several days, an exclusive group of Alec Bradley appointed US tobacconists will receive their share of the highly collectible, individually numbered sets. Presented in factory-worn molds, the aptly named Reclaimed samplers contain one Figurado iteration (6 1/4" x 54 ring-gauge) each of Black Market, Medalist, Prensado, Magic Toast, Maxx, Gatekeeper and Tempus.
"What makes Reclaimed so special," Bradley continued, "is that a genuine, factory-used cigar mold will continue its lifecycle as a collector's prized possession, even after all the sampler exclusive cigars have gone up in smoke."
Alec Bradley 'reclaimed' and upcycled 800 antiquated cigar molds, each retrofitted with a compartment to house the seven deliberately sized and shaped cigars. To complete the rugged aesthetic, 'Alec Bradley', 'Reclaimed', and an individual series number from 1/800 to 800/800 are emblazoned via hot stamp into the top of each mold.

Diesel Atonement is an unapologetically-bold, limited-edition smoke that’s just begun shipping as an exclusive to TAA members.
Atonement marks another project in the collaboration between AJ Fernandez and Justin Andrews who created the smoke in response to feedback from leading retailers and Diesel fans.
Justin Andrews said, “The Diesel story continues to be written, not by AJ and me, but by the Diesel retailers and the fans of the brand who shop in their stores. They’ve been as supportive as they have been vocal, and they didn’t pull any punches when it came to telling us what they wanted for the TAA exclusive cigar this year. They asked for a full-bodied Nicaraguan smoke that balances strength and complexity, with a little something extra, and we delivered. We took the packaging to the next level and made the box to look like a classic novel. It’s our way of letting Diesel retailers and fans know that our story is their story, and there’s so much more to write.”
Idaho Retail Tobacconists and PCA Announce Passage of New Tax Cap
H.B. 330, Passes the Legislature, and is Signed by the Governor
Today, the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) in partnership with its member tobacconists of Idaho, are pleased to announce that Governor Brad Little has signed legislation calling for a fifty-cent tax cap on the sale of cigars.
Over a year in the making, a coalition of locally owned small businesses organized an effort with legislative allies of their local cigar shops. After a series of strategy calls with shop owners, legislators and PCA, bills were filed this session. H.B. 330 passed the House of Representatives 61-10 and the Senate, 25-8. It was then sent to the Governor’s desk.
Southern Draw Cigars is expanding its Manzanita line with a Lancero available exclusively on Cigora, a newly-launched digital platform that integrates ecommerce and community.
The new, 7.5” x 40 frontmark was developed to bring the blend to life with a unique wrapper-to- filler ratio and will be available starting on October 17.
Robert Holt, owner of Southern Draw who blended the cigar with AJ Fernandez said, "Cigora may be a new online cigar community, but it's not new to premium cigars. With a staff of experts, Cigora is rich with content and has a skillfully curated lineup of cigars. Much like when we get together with any of our communities, we didn't want to show up empty handed, so we are proud to debut our newest release together with community members. The Manzanita blend now has a sophisticated Lancero, and this fan-favorite size of our beloved little apple is going to be available exclusively with Cigora for its members to enjoy and share!”
Named for the reddish hue of its wrapper, Manzanita translates to “little apple” in Spanish. While the tobacco origins are undisclosed and the blend is proprietary, Holt confirms that Manzanita consists of a Habano-hybrid wrapper and a Habano binder, and that the filler consists of the highly sought-after Pelo d’Oro, as well as Corojo 99.
DIESEL DISCIPLE ADDS NEW SIZES
Diesel Disciple will welcome two new sizes as permanent additions to the brand’s growing lineup.
The soon-to-be-released Toro and Torpedo vitolas will mark the second and third sizes in the line and will begin shipping this week.
Justin Andrews said, “We decided to launch two new sizes of Diesel Disciple this year because the blend has gotten such a strong endorsement from the retail community. They love the blend and the packaging and often tell us that Disciple smokes like a $20 cigar for half the price. We’re looking forward to rolling out the new formats and will continue to expand the line according to demand from retailers and cigar smokers.”
Handcrafted at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua and developed in collaboration between AJ and STG’s Justin Andrews, Diesel Disciple is a robust and balanced cigar blended to stand out in the medium-full spectrum.
Made with a Mexican San Andreas wrapper, an Ecuadoran Sumatra binder and a filler exclusively comprised of Nicaraguan Habano from Esteli, the cigar exemplifies blending expertise with an unexpected layer of sweetness that creates intrigue against Disciple’s bold and peppery notes.
Diesel Disciple Toro (6.25” x 52); SRP per cigar $9.99
Diesel Disciple Torpedo (6.5” x 54); SRP per cigar $10.49
Both new Diesel Disciple sizes come in 10-count boxes. The line is distributed by Forged Cigar Company.
Originally released to the top US brick and mortar retailers as a TAA exclusive in 2021, Diesel Disciple became a full-time line in 2022 when the brand’s sole frontmark a Lancero (7” x 38) became available in all channels.
MACANUDO COLLABORATES WITH FLINT KNOLL
Best-Selling Premium Cigar Brand and Esteemed Napa Valley Vintner Create Limited Edition Cigar
Macanudo, America’s best-selling premium cigar brand and Flint Knoll, a Napa Valley-based, boutique winery that crafts limited production, world-class wines, have collaborated to create Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll, a one-of-a-kind, limited-edition expression that highlights the similarities between two crafts, cigars and wine.
This special release draws its finesse from the French Oak barrels that age Flint Knoll’s exquisite single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon to take the smoker on a journey through an exotic range of nuances that vary between vibrant, dense and subtle.
Handcrafted at General Cigar Dominicana, the blend is made with a curated selection of six tobaccos representing five unique countries. The exquisite smoke begins with a silky, Ecuadoran-grown Connecticut Shade wrapper leaf which was chosen for its golden sheen and nearly imperceptible vein structure. Beneath the aesthetically-pleasing wrapper sits a proprietary Connecticut Broadleaf binder leaf grown exclusively for Macanudo. The binder underwent a special aging process during which it took on characteristics of the French Oak barrels, imparting notes favored by Flint Knoll Proprietor Aaron Michaelis. When met with a blend of Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Olor, Nicaraguan Jalapa and Dominican Piloto Cubano, Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll delivers elevated layers of aroma and complexity.
Partagas will soon ship this year’s second allotment of “Añejo,” a refined cigar named for the profoundly-aged wrapper tobaccos that define its appearance and attributes.
Shipping to retailers on October 3, Partagas Añejo is being re-released in the two original sizes that launched earlier this year. Both frontmarks are 4.5” in length as commanded by the scarcity and fragility of the cigar’s Cameroon wrapper leaves.
John Hakim, brand manager of Partagas said, “Partagas Añejo is a small-batch offering that we are releasing twice a year. This special blend provides the opportunity for cigar lovers to experience the mystique of a Cameroon wrapper in the context of masterful blending. The initial release earlier this year was met with a tremendous response, and we anticipate that the second allotment will sell out quickly.”
The limited-edition Partagas Añejo is predominantly adorned with a rare 1998 Cameroon which is intertwined with 2013 Connecticut Shade in a barber-pole format. The aged wrapper tobaccos establish a foundation of exceptional depth. When blended with the Mexican and Dominican filler and Dominican Vega Especial binder, the complexity deepens to deliver an intricately layered smoking experience.
El Rey del Mundo Naturals, the Honduran-made line that launched in March 2022 will welcome a five pack featuring its fan-favorite toro.
The bold, red “Locked-In Humidity” pack includes a Boveda humidification pouch to keep the cigars fresh outside of a humidor for on-the-go smoking experiences.
Handcrafted by artisans at the HATSA factory in Danli, Honduras, El Rey Del Mundo Naturals is a mellow-to-medium-bodied smoke featuring an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Honduran binder and a Honduran and Nicaraguan filler. The cigar delivers a smoking experience that is richly layered, with a subtle note of white pepper, surrounded by deeper notes of cedar and graham cracker.
Steve Abbot, director of marketing for STG said, “El Rey del Mundo is loaded with complexity, versatile when it comes to pairing and accessibly priced. These factors have earned the brand a devoted following over the last year. With this five pack, we’re making it convenient for cigar lovers to enjoy the popular Reserva Salado frontmark anytime that calls for a great cigar.”
Reserva Salado (6” x 54); $29.99 per five pack
The sixth and final Diesel Sunday Gravy expression will ship to brick and mortar retailers on October 3.
The blend is named after the iconic Florentine fountain called Il Porcellino. The name translates to “little pig,” yet the bronze sculpture is of a female wild boar which is said to bring good fortune and a sure return to Florence.
Perhaps AJ and Justin Andrews were hinting at a “return” to collaborating when they selected Il Porcellino as the
name for the final Sunday Gravy release. Either that or they were inspired by a wild boar ragu and wanted to name
a bold, rich smoke after it. It’s anybody’s guess.
